Music has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I began singing at the age of five, when my mother bought me a toy microphone and guitar. Putting on performances for my family quickly became the centre of my world.
My creative universe expanded when my dad bought me a Yamaha keyboard. I started writing little songs and discovered early how powerful music could be as a way to express myself.
Around the same time, my mum made me a CD filled with all my favourite songs, which I listened to constantly. Those early influences shaped my love for strong, expressive voices. I grew up listening to R&B powerhouses such as Alicia Keys and Beyoncé, artists who showed me the emotional depth and storytelling that a voice can carry.
As I grew older, my musical world expanded. In my teenage years I fell in love with the timeless sounds of jazz and soul, discovering legendary artists like Nina Simone and Ella Fitzgerald. Their phrasing, emotion and musicality continue to inspire the way I approach singing today.
My current inspirations come from musicians who combine soul, experimentation and vulnerability in beautiful, genre-blending ways such as Solange, anaiis, Ravyn Lenae, Lianne La Havas and Cleo Sol.
Today, music sits at the heart of everything I do. As a vocalist, songwriter and vocal coach, I’m passionate about using the voice as a tool for expression, connection and storytelling. Alongside my solo work, I also perform as part of the duo Guava Jam, where we explore a blend of Caribbean and Middle Eastern musical influences.
Whether I’m collaborating with producers, performing live or helping singers discover their own voice, my aim is always the same: to create music that feels honest, expressive and deeply human.
